DIY – How to Use Plumbers PTFE Tape

Modern plumbing is very easy to install.  Most plumbing connections now come with ‘Push-On’ compression joints simply requires pushing on pipe onto another using the compression joint to lock the two ends of the pipe together.

There are some joints that still consist of threaded nuts  and when fitting these it’s best if you use PTFE tape that is wrapped around the thread to create a water tight joint.

Using PTFE tape is very easy, but many people don’t know where or when to use it and so the guide below has been written to explain this and provide some handy plumbing advice.
