DIY – How to Varnish or Stain a Wood Floor

Without doubt a natural wooden floor looks incredible. There is not much that beats the beauty of natural wood and many people choose to lay a real wood floor in their home.
Depending on the room a wood floor can take a bit of a beating from furniture and foot traffic, especially in places like the living room. Like anything else a natural floor will wear and begin to look a little worse for wear. On that note, however, with a little bit of love and maintenance your wooden floors can retain all there beauty.
The best way to care for a wooden floor is to apply varnish or stain. There is a huge variety of varnishes and stains available so choose one and in a colour you like.
Once you have your varnish or stain it’s time to start the job… but where do you start? In order to get the DIY job done and done well will take careful preparation and time, so make use you do have the time and make sure that you don’t use the room for a couple of days after use.
