DIY – How to Clean a Mattress
November 12, 2011 § 1 Comment
On average we spend 8 hours a day sleeping on a nice comfortable mattress. For a body to stay healthy it needs sleep to be able to revitalize and repair itself, so getting a good nights sleep is of great importance.
The problem is that during the night we shed skin and this attracts dust mites and bed bugs who like nothing more but to munch away at our dead skin. Pretty disgusting I know but this being a horrible thought is not the problem. The real problem is that fact that dust mites and bed bugs can cause all sorts of health problems from a number of allergies to asthma. So that good nights sleep you want is no longer going to happen. So what can you do?
If you are an asthma sufferer then it is highly recommended that you clean your mattress on a regular basis. If you are waking up in the morning with tiny bite marks on you then it’s likely you have a bed bug problem and again cleaning the mattress can help. If your asthma problem is getting worse or you have a large amount of bites then you really should consider buying a new mattress altogether.
Now, you might think that cleaning a mattress is difficult, but it’s not. We’ve produced a Guide that gives you instructions and a couple of methods, with practical advice and tips to help you keep your mattress clean and help you get a good nights sleep.
