Times are financially tough and that’s a fact. You only have to look at your own finances to realize things are not what they used to be regarding disposable income. This year alone we have seen on the the biggest brand names in DIY go bust – Focus DIY.
You would think that in such an dire economical climate that people would actually be spending more on DIY, in order to keep their home maintained and save money on contractors. However, the fact that the likes of Focus DIY is vulnerable just goes to show just how little we are spending on DIY and Home Improvements.
Spending money on what we perceive as ‘non-essentials’ is not happening. Household budgets are being pushed to the limits with many people struggling, but the question here is… Is DIY a non-essential? Can you really afford not to spend money on keeping your property maintained?
We all know that first impressions count and when it comes to trying to sell your home it is so important to show a potential buyer that you do love your home and keep it in good condition.
